Dynamics 365 and Power Platform User Group Q3 2025 meetup
September 22. 2025
On September 22nd, 2025, the Reading Dynamics 365 & Power Platform User Group, which I co-organise with Areti Iles and Fraser Dear, hosted another fantastic evening at our Reading Campus venue.
We had an amazing turnout (with almost 60 registrations) and were treated to two insightful sessions that showcased the power of AI and the evolving Dynamics 365 landscape.
AJ Zafar & Alex Baker-Wong: Offline AI in Action—What Can You Do with Power Platform?
Sharon Smith: Collapsing BizApps—The AI & Agents Driving the Dynamics 365 UI/UX RevolutionSharon followed with a great discussion on the concept of collapsing Business Applications - where AI sits in front of data, reshaping how users interact with systems like Dynamics 365. She gave a clear overview of Project Sophia and the Sales Research Agent, and demonstrated how Copilot Chat can surface insights directly from D365 Sales data.

AJ and Alex kicked off the evening with a practical and engaging session on using AI and the Power Platform to automate stock counting. Their demo-driven talk walked us through building a stock-counting app using Power Apps, integrating it with a webcam, and using AI-powered PCF control (based on TensorFlow) to identify and count audience members holding beer bottles.
It was a really engaging and fun way to demonstrate how low-code tools and AI can be combined to solve real-world problems in areas such as retail and logistics, whilst offline.

One eye-opening highlight was an interview with the ServiceNow CEO, who predicted a shift from traditional CRM systems toward AI-powered systems of action with autonomous front ends (labeling traditional CRM as extinct) which contributed to a surge in ServiceNow’s share price. Sharon’s talk was insightful, and I learned a lot from it.
As always, the evening included pizza, drinks, and great networking. We also had the pleasure of Rory Neary who performed several songs for us on guitar during the break. Huge thanks to AJ, Alex, Sharon, and Rory for their time and energy, and to everyone who joined us.
Our next meetup takes place on 1st December and the registration details are below. We hope to see you there!
