Reading Dynamics 365 and Power Platform User Group successfully holds its Q1 2026 meetup
This evening, Areti Iles, Fraser Dear, Ban Hasan, and I hosted the 2026 Q1 meetup for the Reading Dynamics 365 and Power Platform User Group. Held at the Reading Campus, there was a fantastic turnout with great feedback from attendees .
We were fortunate to host 2 sessions featuring four expert speakers.
Following some refreshments, the second half of the evening continued with a talk by David Reid and Sumit Kumar on Autonomous Agents in Dynamics 365.We were fortunate to host 2 sessions featuring four expert speakers.
Neil Rowlands and Adrian Cole opened by exploring how AI and Plan Designer will change Power Platform. Their session began with a demonstration of Plan Designer and how to create an app with natural language using Power Apps Vibe. The talk emphasised the importance of having humans clarify requirements, develop accurate data models, ensure security and governance, and to judge how future proof a system will be.
Thought provoking themes raised included, will Microsoft continue to improve and develop these AI features or will they lose interest? Will employees and clients accept AI generated code? What if there were a pushback against AI? What would we full back to?
This began with an explanation of the 3 intelligent agents - Customer Intent, Case Management, and Knowledge Management agents. The Customer Intent agent analyses the text of an incoming conversation to determine the underlying goal. This led to an excellent demonstration of a customer chat interation where intial questions were answered by AI. The conversation was escalated to a human agent, the AI in Dynamics assisted the interation, which resulted in the eventual resolution of the ticket.
